This is a complete walkthrough for The Moment of Silence.

Using this walkthrough will get you through the game with the least amount of time and wandering around, but may spoil the game and fun of exploring.

Items which can be picked up as inventory items and items which can be constructed by combining or using other items are written with bold text for emphasis.

 



September 29, 2044

- Take the teddy bear from the hallway.
- Examine the damaged door and bell nameplate. Return to Peter's apartment.
- Open the left side drawer under cupboard and take the action figure.
- Go to the bedside table and open it to find your messenger.
- Call Info-Center and ask about Oswald.
- After the call dial again, and this time call Mrs Oswald. Go through all available dialogues.
- Go to the hallway and knock on Oswald's door to enter.
- Talk to Debbie, go through all available dialogues.
- Go back to your apartment, and call Info-Center to ask police number.
- Call the police, go through all available dialogues.
- Check the desk drawer, and get business cards.
- Use the computer to chat with Christine.
- Call Mrs Oswald again.

September 30, 2044

- Go to Oswald's apartment again. Talk to Debbie, go through all available dialogues.
- Talk to Tommy, go through all available dialogues. You should get a picture of his father.
- Give the action figure to Tommy, and receive an alien doll in return.
- Go to the hallway and use touch switch to ride the elevator downstairs. Outside, keep going right until you come to a park where a guru is preaching.
- Try to talk to guru. After it, go to his place to sleep which is right beside him, and take the wire that is hanging below a small skull.
- Talk to guitar player, go through all available dialogues.
- Return to where you entered the park and where Bob's kiosk is. Talk to Bob and go through all available dialogues.
- Show alien toy to Bob.
- Go left where SatCars are, and take a ride to Downtown Manhattan.

- Go to the door, and use the messenger on the terminal to open the door.
- Talk to the robot, Claire. You may go through all dialogues, if you want to, but the goal is to get Claire to have Mr Greenberg to confirm your temporary password. Greenberg gives you a temporary password, memorise it.
- Talk to Claire again, and give the password you just received (pl56f9olp4r).
- Go to the elevator and go up to the office.
- Go to the second floor in the office and talk to the boss, Greenberg twice, go through all available dialogues. The goal is to get him to agree to give you some time off work.
- Find Brian sitting at one of the computers, talk to him, go through all available dialogues.
- Bill is standing in front of an upload terminal, talk to him, go through all available dialogues.
- Exit the office and go to the SatCar. Go to Lower East Side.

- Go to a park of sorts, which is right next to the parked SatCar. Talk to Juan, go through all available dialogues. He should steal your messenger in the end.
- Talk to Big Mike who remains in the scene, go through all available dialogues.
- Walk north until you see a prostitute, Rita, standing next to a display screen. Talk to her, go through all available dialogues. You should get a secret entrance signal to Nuclear Café.
- Knock on the café entrance and enter the café. Talk to Lou, go through all available dialogues.
- Take the messenger from the table in the middle of the room.
- Show Oswald's picture to Lou. After the conversation you can access the back room.
- Go to the back room and talk to Cypher, go through all available dialogues. In the end you receive a CD.
- Exit, go back to SatCar and take a ride to Downtown Manhattan.

- Go to the office and talk to Bill, go through all unused dialogues.
- Exit the office and go to the SatCar. Go to Brooklyn.

- Talk to Bob and get a Litelife meal.
- Go to SatCars, and take a ride to Downtown Manhattan.

- Go back to the office, and enter the kitchen. Try to operate the microwave oven.
- Connect the plug near the door, on the right side, to a socket.
- Go to the reception counter, and check the fuse box on the wall. Turn the switch that is off to on position.
- Return to kitchen, put the meal in the oven, and set the timer to 2:00. Push start button to heat the meal.
- You must wait until the food is ready, but you don't need to stand next to it, so this is a good time to go in the office area, search an area near where the stair lead upstair to find a notice board with a magnet. Take the magnet.
- After it is done and the food is ready, go talk to Bill about his meal, who will leave and go eat it.
- Use the terminal, and use the CD on the disk slot.
- Exit the office and go to the SatCar. Go to Lower East Side again.

- Enter the back room in the Nuclear Café and talk to Cypher about every new thing that has become available.
- Call Mrs Oswald again and talk about all new things.
- Exit, go back to SatCar and take a ride to Downtown Manhattan once again.

- Enter the office, and go to the second floor where the boss was previously.
- Look at his desk, and notice a rubber pad that is sticking out. Turn it over and get a key.
- The key unlocks the drawer of his desk, so do that, and steal the flight check book that is inside.
- Exit the office and go to the SatCar. Go to JFK Airport.

- Enter the building. Look around to find three check-in terminals, A, B, and C. These are for space elevator, airplanes, and zeppelins, accordingly, and there are corresponding pictures to help find the right gate. Go to terminal B, and show your check book to the scanner.

 

October 1, 2044

- You are now in Arecibo, enter the building and talk to the scientist about everything.
- Walk further into the building, until there is a door that let's you exit to a new area. Go out and go to the gift shop. If you completed the previous discussion properly, the friendly shop clerk will throw Oswald's lost bag to the ground where you can pick it up from.
- Study the bag in the inventory to reveal its contents: a knife, piece of thread and an old-fashioned videocamera.
- If you want, you can go to the observatory to see how it works, but there's not much to do there at the moment, so you can return to SatCar, which will automatically take you back to JFK Airport.
- Take SatCar to Brooklyn.

- You can briefly chat with Bob about your trip, but go in the building and enter Oswald's apartment.
- Talk with Debbie about every new thing.
- Talk with Tommy to get his teddy bear.
- Use knife to open the teddybear to find a videotape.
- Talk with Debbie again about every new thing.
- Take the key that is on the table.
- Leave, go out, and take SatCar to Downtown Manhattan.

- Go back to the office, and talk to Bill about the videotape. After you learn everything about it, leave and take SatCar to the new location, Greenwich Village.

- Walk to the antique shop that is on the right side of the street. Examine the door window closely. You should pick up the sign that is on the other side of the door.
- Combine thread and wire in the inventory to get a fishing rod.
- Attach the magnet to the fishing rod.
- Use the fishing rod in the mailbox to pick up the sign.
- Study what the sign says, it contains a telephone number.
- Use the messenger to call Huntington Antiques and go through the dialogue and Mr Huntington will open the door.
- Talk to Mr Huntington, go through all available dialogues.
- Walk around the shop to see what it has inside. Right now, you need to pick up a tape containing an old War of the Worlds radioplay. It is located in the bookshelf near the cash register.
- Go to the other side of the cash register and walk a bit further to find a table containing random electronic devices. Pick up the VCR that you need to view the videotape.
- Leave the shop, and take SatCar to Lower East Side.

- Go the back room in the Nuclear Café and give the radioplay tape to Cypher.
- There's a table that has a cable on it, take it.
- Go out and take SatCar to Brooklyn.

- Enter your apartment. Put the VCR on the table that is in front of the telescreen.
- Use the cable to connect VCR to the telescreen.
- Put the videotape in the VCR player.
- Watch the telescreen closely. There will be sequences of numbers that you need to memorise. They are 8227.9347 and 2234.6621.
- You may catch up with Christine in the computer chatroom.
- Exit the apartment, go to the street, and take SatCar to JFK Airport.

- Use the checkbook on check-in gate B to fly back to Arecibo.

- Go in the building, walk through it to another exit, walk past the gift shop and enter the observatory building.
- Use the virtual telescope in the middle of the room. Enter the number sequence 8227.9347 and print the picture. Repeat the same with 2234.6621.
- Go back to SatCar and soon you will be back in JFK Airport.

- Before you leave the airport, go to the locker area which is between B and C check-in gates. Study the lockers closely, now you know where they are, but you can't open them yet.
- Go to the Information Center that is on the other side of the airport. Talk with the woman, go through all available dialogues.
- This is a bit tricky part to figure out, but go to the window that is near the door, but don't leave the Information Center. Look at the window to start a conversation about homeless people hanging out in the airport. The woman working behind the counter will go out and make the homeless people leave. Go behind the counter, and look at the surveillance monitors there. Watch how the man in the video enters the combination for the locker.
- Go back to the locker area, use the key on the locker 2367, and enter the combination 2543 to open the locker. Take the diary that is stored there.
- Read through the diary, it will contain critical information for what happens afterwards.
- Leave the airport and take SatCar to Lower East Side.

- Go the back room in the Nuclear Café and show the printed images to Cypher.
- Go out and take SatCar to Greenwich Village.

- Use the messenger to call Mr Huntington to let you in.
- Talk to Mr Huntington about new things.
- Mr Huntington will show you the secret area behind the door, look around to find a light switch on the wall. Read all articles that become visible on the wall.
- Talk to Mr Huntington about new things.
- Before you leave, go to the bird cage and pick up a courier pigeon.
- Leave the shop, and take SatCar to Brooklyn.

- Go to your apartment, and try to sleep.

 

October 2, 2044

- Use the computer to chat with Christine.
- Go to Oswald's apartment and talk about every new thing with Debbie.
- Chat with Christine again to apologise. Watch how you unexpectedly get a free trip to space as a strange man give you a ticket to Lunar 5.
- Go out, have a brief talk with Bob, and take SatCar to JFK Airport.

- Use Lunar 5 ticket with the check-in gate A.

 

October 3, 2044

- After entering the space station, talk with the hostess Linda, go through all available dialogues.
- You will automatically go to your cabin, number 28, there are signs on walls and floor to show which way is which part of the space station when you start moving around.
- Search your cabin. You will find a towel and toothbrush glass from the washing facilities.
- Try the three radio channels on the wall to see what they do.
- Leave the cabin and start going to the pool area, go past the hostess and into what is sort of a lagoon with a bar in the end.
- Talk to Dr Jenkins, who is just on the very edge of the pool area, or alternatively at the bar. You can't talk to him while he is sitting at the bar. He changes place every time you enter the area, so if he is in the wrong place, just leave and enter again.
- Talk to Mrs Winter, who is standing in front of the large windows.
- Go further into the bar area and talk to Mr Stiller, who is near the window side end of the bar.
- Check the bar and get a cocktail.
- Go back to the entrance area and talk with the hostess about all new things.

- Return to your cabin. Place the toothbrush glass on the table.
- Put the towel over the toothbrush glass.
- Pour the cocktail to the glass through the towel. Take the capsules. Take the towel as well.
- Shove the towel into the air shaft above the door. Listen to radio channel 3 to hear what is the current composition of air, memorise the readings.

- Go back to the bar where Dr Jenkins likes to sit. You should enter at the moment when he is not there, so if he is there, simply leave and come back again. Look at his coffee cup.
- Use the knife to open the capsules and put the contents in the coffee cup.
- Wait for a moment and Dr Jenkins will leave, take the radio transmitter that he leaves behind.
- Go to the locked door that is near the entrance to the cabin area. Right beside the door is a cover, use the radio transmitter on that.
- The cover will open, revealing a button. Push the button to open the door.

- Enter the pressure chamber.
- Look at the display on the wall. Getting right values inserted here will open the door. The goal is to adjust three parameters so that the overall value remains at 100 all the time, when the correct values are inserted, a big button in the middle will lit up.
- Think back about the values you heard on the radio channel 3, use them here. The left side value: 21, and from there clockwise, 78, and 1.
- If you are successful, the touch switch in the middle becomes green, so hit it, and the elevator door opens. Enter the elevator.

- In the weird manufacturing plant, study the discarded object on the right side. Get a tool and an energy stick.
- Walk left to the ports where the machines are departing from. Stop where the launch unit A22 is. Study the object that is ready to lauch.
- Place the faulty energy stick into the object.
- Leave the area and go to the reception area.

 

October 4, 2044

- Back at the airport, look around and find Lou standing near a wall. Go through the dialogues.
- Enter the Air Lounge. Talk to Gerald, go through all available dialogues.
- Go out to SatCar. If you wish, you can go back to Downtown Manhattan office and talk with Brian to hear some latest development. What you should do, however, is to eventually go to Lower East Side and talk with prostitute Rita about all new things. You will receive a business card and an ID card that belongs to the zeppelin mechanic.
- Take SatCar back to the airport.
- Go to the locker area and use the locker to store your items.
- Go outside and use the locker key on the pigeon.
- Use the ID card with the check-in gate C.

 

October 5, 2044

- Walk to the platform that has two elevators. Go to the enclosed elevator in the corner.
- Study the control unit that releases the elevator. You need to figure out the right code to make the elevator work. The way the device works is that first you hit the touch switch button to power it up, then use the touch switches to change patterns on the digital display, and finally turn the switch.
- Read the diary, and see the entry that has description of the code. "Code: TR M BR B - BL B BR", to interpret this, you need to know that T means top, B means bottom, M means middle, and L and R are left and right, respectively.
- If you can figure it out, just push the left side setting five times up, and right side setting ten times down, and that's the correct code. Use the touch switch in the elevator to start it.

- After taking the elevator down, climb the stairs down and use the boat.
- Near the pillar at the left, pick up a mine. You will lay this mine at the top of the structure.
- After the mine is in place, take the same elevator again. This time, when you are down at the sea level, use the switch on the outside of the elevator to send it back up.
- Study the secret area that is revealed, and get the diving gear.
- Put on the diving gear, and use the boat again. Go to the pillar with the high voltage sign. Dive here, and pull the flap, and pull the switch.
- Return to the top level where the yellow open elevator is, and operate it to go up.
- Enter through the door, and study all the displays that are in the room. Read the coordinates display carefully.
- Take the rope that is on the floor.
- Leave the room, go back down and walk to the mine. Attach the rope to the mine and the other end to the zeppelin and you will automatically leave on the zeppelin.
- Go to the back of the zeppelin, and open the flap in the ceiling. Crawl in there to hide, and watch the cutscenes.

 

October 6, 2044

- You can't go to the apartment, as it is being watched, so you end up in the Greenwich Village instead. Try to enter the shop, only to find out that things are getting from bad to worse. Pay close attention to the dialogue spoken here during the cutscenes.

 

October 7, 2044

- Talk to prison guard, go through all available dialogues.
- After the other guard comes to check your bed, leave the cell and walk in the corridor to the next cell where Brett is, go through all available dialogues.
- Walk right and talk to the other prison guard, go through all available dialogues.
- You can visit the yard if you want to, but there's not much to do there now, so use the bed to go forward in the prison cycle. This should have the other prisoner go to the yard, and leave his cell empty. In case he is in the wrong place at any moment, just use your bed again to change the cycle.
- After having your cell inspected again, go to the other cell and steal ketchup from there.
- Take the bread from your cell.
- Use the bed again.

- When the guard comes to inspect your cell once again, notice how he puts his hat on the bed. Use ketchup on his hat and watch him pass out.
- Search the guard to get a key. Walk to the corridor and use the key on the trellised gate to enter guard room.
- Go to the end of the room where the surveillance station is. Study it closely to find Mr Longneck hanging there. Take Mr Longneck which will also give you thread.
- Leave the room, lock the door, and put the key back into guard's pocket.
- Return to your cell and use the bed again.

- When the cycle has moved on, use the thread on the door bars. After the door opens, the doctored tooth will be pulled out, and appear in the inventory.
- Go to the yard. Use bread on magpie to catch it.
- Return to the cell and wait for night to arrive. When it's night, go out and use bread on magpie to catch it again.
- Attach the tooth to magpie and release the bird to night sky.
- Go to the corner where the tree is sticking over the wall, and climb the tree to escape prison.

 

October 8, 2044

- Talk to Bob to get a MagTrain ticket.
- Use the ticket on MagTrain, which is located behind SatCars.

- You will automatically come to Greenwich Village. Enter the shop (you don't need to use messenger to enter now). Remember the last words that Mr Huntington said. Check the crystal chandelier to find the locker key that you sent away by a courier pigeon earlier.
- Exit the shop to go automatically to JFK Airport.

- Go to the lockers, and get the things that you deposited earlier.
- Check the voicemail that Mr Huntington has left to your messenger.
- Exit and take SatCar to Brooklyn.

- Walk to the park and show the messenger to the guitar player. Watch the dramatic cutscene.

 

October 9, 2044

- You are now in the sewer, which might be a maze, but according to the protagonist, isn't. Walk to the passage, and when you see a bridge crossing to the other side, go over it. Basically just keep walking forward, without going to any side corridors. If at one point you hear the protagonist making the statement about this not being a maze, you are on the right path. Walk until you come to a staircase that leads down. Go down and enter through the door.
- You are on an abandoned subway station. Hit the switch near the door to turn the lights on.
- Move on the platform until you see a subway map, take it.
- Backtrack and go to the place where you first crossed the bridge. Go back over the bridge, and this time enter through the door that is at the end of the corridor near the bridge.
- If you see a shoe on the floor you are on the right path, take the shoe, and basically just keep on moving forward until you come to another stairs that have another door that leads to another abandoned subway station.

- Talk to Charlie, go through all available dialogues.
- Try to talk to Juri at the end of the station.
- Enter the subway car, talk to professor, go through all available dialogues.
- Go to the back to the car and talk to Mr Oswald, go through all available dialogues.
- Talk to professor again, go through all new dialogues.
- Talk to Charlie again, go through all new dialogues.
- Go to the end of the station where Juri is standing. Use thread on shoe to fix it.
- Give the shoe to Juri.

- You should automatically end up near your apartment building. Take the plank to use it when you see it lying around. Climb up through ventilation duct to the locked WC on apartment floor.
- Open the door to talk to Tommy.

- When you are switched to playing as Debbie, you may, if you like, go through dialogues with men who are in the apartment. Go to Tommy's room and get jellies.
- Go to the toilet, and pour jellies into the toilet bowl.
- Exit the toilet, and enter it again. Flush the toilet.
- Talk to the men about using the toilet in the corridor. Watch the cutscene that follows.

 

October 10, 2044

- Now you are in Alaska and need to find a method of travelling further. You may look around and go into the shop and talk to the shopkeeper. What you need to do is go behind the house where there's a plank pile. Interact with the pile to push one loose, and that will distract the shopkeeper and make him come out.
- Go into the shop and look at keybox behind the counter. Open it and take the key.
- Go outside and use the key on the jet sleigh.

- When you reach your destination and see the dome, open the jet sleigh front cover and take the gas canister and rag out from there.
- Walk left where the dome entrance is, but buried under snow. Put the gas canister in snow field in front of the entrance.
- Put the rag into the gas canister.
- Use the lighter on the gas canister to ignite and explode it.
- When the entrance has been exposed, look at the camera to open the door.

- Walk forward a little and notice a closed door on the right with a dead man in front of it. Search the body to get a disk and a note.
- Use the lighter on the note to read what is written on it, memorise the letters.
- Walk to the end of the corridor to find a computer room. Talk to the computer, go through all available dialogues.
- Return to the hallway, where the dead body and two closed doors were. Go to the door on the opposite site from the body. The door has a lock where you need to click continents in the right order to open it. You can see the sequence in the note with secret message: NA EU AF AU SA. So press the buttons accordingly: North America, Europe, Africa, Australia, South America.
- You will find yourself in a room with a parabolic dish. There five completely identical rooms, pay close attention numbers on the wall to see which room you are in. The goal is to get dishes out of alignment in such a way that the data feeds are cut and the system crashes.
- Starting from the room where you entered, room 1, go through all the rooms and change values where needed. The right values are as follow, and the order of rooms is counter-clockwise, so always take the south passage to the next room.

Note that you need to do rooms 1 and 3 twice, as the values don't go to their needed values before the sequence above has been completed.
- When finished, go back to the corridor and enter through the evacuation door which is where the body is.

- Go forward to evacuation capsules. Pull the lever in front of evacuation unit 3. Enter the capsule.
- Ending #1: Pull the lever, hit the touch switch. Watch the cutscene. This is obviously the wrong ending in the game, as it returns you to an earlier point.
- Ending #2: When in the capsule, look at the rocket control. Use the disk on the disk slot. Pull the lever, hit the touch switch. Watch the cutscene.


THE GAME IS FINISHED. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
