About this walkthrough

This is a complete walkthrough for Grand Larceny.

Using this walkthrough will get you through the game with the least amount of time and wandering around, but may spoil the game and fun of exploring.

Items which can be picked up as inventory items and items which can be constructed by combining or using other items are written with bold text for emphasis.

 

 

General information

You can move the character sideways by joystick or keyboard keys, but moving the character up or down in the hotel requires parser commands.
The parser is simple and limited, it doesn't understand any synonyms for action words. Here is a complete list of commands that the parser understands:

Walkthrough


- Walk right to the rubbish bin.
- EXAMINE RUBBISH
- GET NECKTIE (new inventory item: necktie)
- WEAR NECKTIE
- Walk to the hotel door.
- GO HOTEL
- Walk to the lift.

- An alternative method to enter the hotel is to walk left to the fire escape.
- CLIMB FIREESCAPE
- Walk right to the door.
- OPEN DOOR
- Keep going right until you come to the lift.

- GO UP
- GO UP
- GO UP
- GO UP
- When you are in the fourth floor (the floor with a jemmy on the floor) walk right to flowers.
- GET FLOWERS (new inventory item: a bunch of flowers)
- Walk right.
- OPEN DOOR
- Walk to the secretary.
- GIVE FLOWERS

- After a short cutscene of sorts, walk right to the end of the room.
- CRACK SAFE
- OPEN SAFE (new inventory item: plans)

- Go to the lift.
- GO UP

- Walk left.
- OPEN DOOR
- LOOK
- EXAMINE TERMINAL
- Walk right, and keep walking until you come to a cupboard on the wall.
- EXAMINE CUPBOARD (new inventory item: a tranquilizer capsule)
- Walk right to the door.
- OPEN DOOR
- SHOOT BODYGUARD
- Walk right to the door.
- OPEN DOOR
- LOOK
- GO WINDOW

- Walk left until you reach the end of the corridor where stairs lead to the roof. Wait here until 11:00 or explore the hotel, but there's no way to enter the roof before 11:00. A nice way to pass time here is to find hidden items, open locked doors, and maybe BUY DRINK to the girl in the bar.
- CLIMB STAIRS
- Walk right to the helicopter.
- GO HELICOPTER
